TRIPOLI , the
national high power rocketry association, has assigned the Bonneville
Area Rocket Flyers (BARF) the Prefecture of Tripoli Tooele #08.
BARF is an informal organization of fellow rocketeers with
interest primarily in high power and experimental rocketry. Our
purpose is to enjoy the hobby of rocketry while promoting self
education and research of basic rocket and related sciences.
In
order to facilitate controlled testing and launching, at the launch
site, the organizing Board of Directors (BOD) of Tripoli Tooele #08
reserve the right to be selective of who and what is launched under the
flight waiver. Because of our limited group size, not being a club
and nature of our waiver, we are selective of who and what is tested or
launched. Rocketry, and many other activities, may be
unpredictable,
potentailly hazardous or injury causing. Please respect the
interests
of the holders of the flight waiver and the group association at
large.
BARF also asks that respect is noted for the range land about the
launch
site. Please do not jepordize an association with the BLM.
Location:
- Rush
Valley (approximately 60 mi. SW of Salt Lake City, Utah).
Launches:
- Any person desiring to fly or test must be a Tripoli
member in good standing! No excuses. The Tripoli Tooele Prefect
or any Tripoli Prefect can help you apply for Tripoli Rocketry Association
membership.
- Launch
dates are determined by group willingness and preparation to test or
fly.
- Launch
Date and Time are at the discretion of the holder(s) of the waiver and
the BARF BOD.
- All
launching, testing and area activities are at the discretion of, and in
the presence of, the holder(s) of the waiver and or any member of the
BARF BOD.
- A launch

- Please
limit use of OHV equipment (motor cycles, ATV etc.) to recovery
activities. The surrounding land and vegetation is very fragile.
All impact is noticable, regeneration is slow.
- Vehicles,
motors, and or rocketry techniques for test and or launch will conform
to basic
rocketry principles and safety requirements pertaining to all known
rocketry
associations, ie; National Rocketry Association (NAR), Tripoli
Association
of Rocketry (TRA) etc. The attending Prefect, the launch coordinator,
or
a BARF BOD member will rule.
- Vehicles,
motors, and or rocketry techniques that can be ruled as experimental by
the attending Prefect, the launch coordinator, or a BARF BOD member,
will therefore conform to current the Tripoli Experimental Rules.
Experimental rocketry pertaining to AN or AP formulation, including
specialized payloads, electronic equipment etc., is encouraged and
fostered in the name of science. Please review the Tripoli
Experimental Rules if you are not familiar with what this means.
- WE WILL
NOT TOLERATE WHINERS! NO MEANS NO
UNCERTIFIED OR DECERTIFIED MOTORS ALLOWED WHEN WE LAUNCH COMMERCIAL.
- Bring your
own launch equipment, fire suppression, beverages, toilet and trash
bag. HPR magazines are typically not welcomed unless used in toilet or
showing off your own photo.
Leave No Trace. Leave a trace and you are not welcome again!
- Please do
not launch highpower at the BARF launch site or under the BARF name
unless you are
the holder of a waiver that entitles you to do so! Respect the
effort of those who worked to obtain and hold the waiver, or loose the
invite to test or launch!
